Judge Danforth was the judge of the 1692 witch trial. He was a very selfish judge but was also very loyal to the people in the court. Mr.Danforth was also very strict about the rules and the laws that were enforced back then. The most important things to him were that he only cared about his reputation with people. He had a feeling that the accusations of the witches were false and he didn’t believe that there were witches. He was scared that people would think that he was weak and he didn’t want that.
Danforths farm land became Framingham and at times very stubborn as we know it today. Was governor of Massachusetts for a few years and became president of the province of Maine. He opened his own court in York Maine. When he started there he granted people with several parcels of land. He was a strong judge during the Salem witch trials.
This annotation of Judge Thomas Danforth has all the roles of what he did during the salem witch trials. The source that I used for Mr.Danforth covered all the important things that happened in his life. This also has good detail on the role that he took in the Salem witch trials.
